Have you ever used a sugar scrub in the shower or as an at-home pedicure addition? I have been a fan of sugar scrubs for a long time, as they are such a great way to give yourself a little spa-like moment. And I have always thought that they make a great gift, as I think a lot of people have a hard time justifying a little luxury for themselves. So let me share about this new True Botanicals sugar scrub that is so worthy of gifting, and grabbing one for yourself. (Yes! You deserve it, too!)
True Botanicals just released their new “Body Love” Pure Radiance Sugar Scrub, and it is so incredible. (Before we move on, can we love on the name?! “Body Love” and Pure Radiance! Yes, yes, yes. Okay – moving on…)
The organic sugar and plant-derived glycerin work together to help gently exfoliate and slough away dry, dead skin cells, without any harsh stripping or irritating the skin’s barrier. It just leaves you with softer, smoother, glowing skin. It nourishes and supports your skin’s barrier function with emollient fatty acids, and you can feel the softer skin immediately!
The amazing unisex smell is best described as Nature Bathing In a Jar, like you are in a luscious forest. It has an essential oil blend that includes orange peel, cedarwood, and sandalwood, giving a natural, clean, woodsy subtle scent.
What are the primary ingredients? Well, of course, organic sugar! Organic fine grain sugar, to be more specific. It also includes sandalwood powder, kaolin clay, hemp seed, and jojoba seed and green tea seed oils.
This one has a really great texture – not too oily, not too harsh. True Botanicals’ Sugar Scrub isn’t abrasive like many traditional body exfoliants (even natural ones using ingredients like walnut shells can be harsh and create micro-tears). This scrub uses the kaolin clay to cushion the organic sugar and finely milled sandalwood powder. And that is actually a great way to describe the texture as well – a little bit “cushiony” – if you know what I mean! It’s soft and nourishing, while effectively sloughing away those dead skin cells, leaving soft, glowing skin without irritating the skin. And, it should be noted, that with the clean ingredient list, it is environmentally-friendly, as well! It is truly a luxurious and natural body sugar scrub. Grab yours here: https://shrsl.com/2nv8h
How often should I use a sugar scrub? Where do I use it?
In the shower, it is amazing as an all-over body scrub. It is especially great to use before shaving your legs, as you get a closer shave when you have just exfoliated. It also helps with those bumps on the backs of your arms (Keratosis Pilaris). And it helps anywhere that your skin gets a little tougher – elbows, knees, heels.
Generally, you would use a sugar scrub one to two times per week on damp skin. For Keratosis Pilaris, you could use it on those areas every other day. And for other dry, tougher areas, you could also use the sugar scrub every other day. In all of these scenarios, you massage in a circular motion on damp skin. For very dry areas, you can massage more vigorously. And then rinse off, and follow up with lotion or body oil.
It’s also nice to place it next to your sink and use it as a hand scrub. With our dry winter hands and extra hand cleaning this winter, this nourishing scrub will be a great addition to your routine to soften your hands. Use it after washing your hands, and follow up with lotion. Your hands will be so soft!!! Have you started giving yourself at-home manicures? This is a fun step to add to make your manicure much more spa-like!
Combine using this Pure Radiance Sugar Scrub on your body in the shower with using True Botanicals’ Nourishing Lotion or Pure Radiance Body Oil after the shower for the ultimate in dry winter skin relief and hydrated, soft skin. I love beautiful body oils in the winter, especially on my legs! They are so soothing.
Don’t you think that Sugar Scrubs are also the best gift? It’s not something that everyone splurges on for themselves, and a little splurge IS the perfect gift. In a time when we all need a little more self-care, I think this is a beautiful gift for almost everyone. (Including You!) At a $38 USD price point, it’s the perfect gift. I am stocking up on a few, as I always wish I had a few extra gifts on hand for that last minute need or when you realize you forgot someone.
